Veloura opened in Cathays in 2021 with a simple idea: a salon where a silk press, knotless braids, a balayage and a bridal trial all sit comfortably on the same appointment book. Our stylists trained across Cardiff, London and Lagos, and we keep a quiet treatment room upstairs for facials, brows and a proper breather.

Book online in a couple of taps. Consultations for braids and colour are free; everything else shows its price and duration up front.

Wash, Cut & Finish
Every cut starts with a chat about how you wear your hair day to day. We cleanse and condition, cut to suit your face shape and texture, then finish with a blow dry, diffuse or wrap set as appropriate. Includes a scalp massage. Add a treatment if your ends need it.
Book £55.00Silk Press
A silk press done properly: deep cleanse, moisture treatment, blow out and a low-tension flat-iron pass with heat protection at every step. Ask for a dusting or trim at the end. Pair with the Satin Bonnet from our shop to keep it sleek for longer.
BookBraids Consultation
Not sure whether to go knotless, feed-in or boho? Book a free consultation in studio or by video call. We will look at your hair and scalp, agree a style and length, and tell you exactly how long the appointment will take and what it will cost.
Book £95.00Knotless Braids
Our most-booked style. Knotless braids sit flat and light, with no tension at the root, and last six to eight weeks with the right care. Price is for mid-back length in a medium size. Choose “Hair supplied” if you would like us to provide pre-stretched hair, and “Extra length” for waist length.
Book £20.00Colour Consultation
Every colour service at Veloura starts here. We do the skin test (required 48 hours before colour), a strand test and a proper conversation about maintenance and budget. The £20 is deducted from your colour appointment.
Book £110.00Balayage
Soft, sun-kissed dimension painted by hand so it grows out without a line. Includes toner/gloss, a bond-building treatment and a blow dry. A Colour Consultation (with skin test) is required for first-time colour clients.

Questions we get asked most
Braids
Do I need to bring my own hair for braids?
No. We stock pre-stretched braiding hair in the most-requested colours; add “Hair supplied” when you book. If you prefer your own, bring it along and we will deduct the supply charge.
How long does a knotless braids appointment take?
Around four hours for mid-length, up to six for waist length. We book braids as the only appointment in that chair, so there is no waiting.
Children
Can I book for my child?
Yes — Children’s Hair is for under-12s and takes about 45 minutes. Our free Children’s Hair Care Morning is a lovely first visit.
Booking
What is your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your appointment. Bridal bookings need 7 days’ notice.
Bridal
Do you offer bridal trials?
Every bridal booking includes a trial. Book Bridal Hair and we will arrange the trial date with you, or come to the Bridal Beauty Evening to meet the team first.
